That 70s Post

Plain and Simple,

You know a good TV show when you see one. You KNOW its REALLY good if you find yourself using bittorrent and downloading every single season and then watching them straight through.

This was the case for me this past month. That is why, I haven't posted anything up lately. That 70s Show is by far my favorite TV Series. It bypassed F.R.I.E.N.D.S. and the Simpsons by miles. I love sit-coms. No matter how dumb you feel, sit-coms always shows you that someone could be dumber. I was so excited about watching all the episodes of That 70s Show and spend hours in front of the computer wasting valuable time. This was in fact worse than when I had Prison Break fever. The weirdest thing was, whe you finish watching a series like that, by the end of it all,you know the characters so much. You feel like you are part of the family, a silent friend who has always been there. Through the bad, through the good, and through the fun. When it came to the finale I was excited until the end. when the end came, I was just torn apart. It felt like I was just dumped by a girlfriend. So empty, almost as if there was no reason to go on. I'm OK now, so now I'm looking for any show that will step up and do better (Heroes..maybe?)

This post is going to be short and sweet, plain and simple.

I cannot wait for Heroes Season 2, I still don't know where Sylar went. Until then, I think I'm going to cut back on the TV Shows for a while now.

Until next time, keepit Plain and Simple,

Lights! Camera! Action!

Plain and Simple,

Movies give people a chance to getaway from the this hectic world that we live in. It's a chance for us to get away from all the things we hate and escape to a place of our imaginations. Whether it takes you on a journey as a Pirate in the Caribbean (I recently saw "POTC3: At World's End") or whether it traps you in a dusty town during World War II, you are free to imagine your environment.

The golden oldies of movies may look so simple that it would be easy to remake them on your computer at home nowadays. But if you take into consideration the time it was made, the evolution of Movie making, and Hollywood is very worthy of the title "Magical."

Recently, mostly due to boredom, I have decided to watch all the movies on the internet movie database's Top 250 movies of all time chart. Because 250 is a long list that you can check out onyour own atthe above link, I will only post the top ten with my very own review. So I welcome you to 'Tulgovski Movie Review.'

Live! - Alternative Rock

Plain and Simple,

Music is the way of life... A bit exaggerated, I know. But everyone listens to some music (even against their will). Today I thought I should share some of my favorite songs' live performances. Some of the bands you probably have never heard of but they're good. so here is a list of videos:

Snow Patrol - How to be Dead

Stereophonics - Maybe Tomorrow

Aqualung - Strange & Beautiful (I'll Put a Spell on You)

Incubus - Talk Shows on Mute

Blink 182 - Stay together for the kids

30 Seconds to Mars - The Kill

Our Lady Peace - Somewhere Out There

I hope you enjoyed these songs... I'll post up some more in a different genre next week.

Pieces of Culture

Plain and Simple,

Ever since the evolution or creation, whichever you choose to believe, of mankind, there have always been some form of art present in our environment. From old cave drawings dating back 32,000 years to the abstract form of art of today, people have left pieces of culture to the many generations to come. As Amy Lowell once said

"Art is the desire of a man to express himself, to record the reactions of his personality to the world he lives in."

But within art there are many sub-categories. Some people believe something is art while others may disagree. Even a pencil may be categorized as art to a person, I know it will be hard to find someone who actually thinks that a pencil is an art, but never doubt their existence. Many inventions are considered art to their creators.

So why Art you ask?

I came back from 8 hours of school and found a link sent to me by my friend Erkhemchuhal, better known as DORE (Amazing photographer, I recommend you look at his photography work here), so I followed the link, and amazingly I was moved by this certain video. I don't know whether it was the background music or the whole unified motion (No it was not the girl, I did not find her attractive), so without any further ado, I give you The Chinese Deaf Dance Team with their amazing choreography masterpiece, "The Thousand Hands of Buddha"

What's amazing is that all the dancers are deaf and are cued by people on the sides of the stage, yet they are able to perform with such accuracy that even people who are not deaf, let alone people who 'got rhythm' cannot do. This is one video that people must see...

Another form of dance that I found very 'Talk-Worthy" is Hardcore dancing (Don't let the name scare you). Many people see it and think "Are they High?" or "They look stupid!" but to the people who understand this form of dance considers it an art. There are many tutorials on YouTube.

Many Controversial forms of art, frowned upon by many, worshiped by few, exist. Just a few note-worthy examples include:
  • Marilyn Manson's Music is considered to be Evil by many but some people believe his music is a work of art.
  • The Hong-Kong Film "Dumplings" has been met with numerous controversies over its content which involve child-cannibalism
  • Pornography is also considered an art by creators and fans alike.
So, Plain and Simple, can we really say what is art and what is not? Are there specific outlines for something to be considered an art? or is it just personal opinion? Arguments are open... Leave what you think in the comments...

Calculus 101

So... Plain and Simple,

Today since the moment I woke up, I've been trying to do my calculus. Here is a rough outline of my long and productive day:

1200: I woke up roughly around this time, Shower, bla bla bla the basics..

1300: Stared at my calculus, then went to make some lunch for myself. I mean, who can think on an empty stomach right?

1400: Stared at my calculus, made an instrumental for John Waite's Missing You, which turned out brilliant I must say. You can download it here!

1500: Stared at my calculus, sang along to John Waite's Missing You. I'm not really missing anyone, it's just that I heard Phil Stacey sing this song on American Idol and I really liked it. The Lyrics are available all over the internet but since humans are a lazy species, by which of course I mean myself, I'll put a link to John Waite's site -=John Waite - Missing You Lyrics=-

1600: Stared at my calculus, read random articles on Wikipedia (AMAZING SITE). Some of the articles I read and recommend (just for the sake of knowing) include: Valentine's Day Massacre, Al Capone, Al Pacino, Buddhism, and some others that are not quite appropriate so I will not post them here but you are free to contact me and ask.

1700: Stared at my calculus. Andy came back from class, so we went to return the movie I rented (Music & Lyrics starring Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore, I know it's a chick flick! Nomin told me to watch it so I did) and went to dinner at that Japanese restaurant on campus.

1800: Stared at my calculus. Started reading my calculus textbook (Notice how this is the first mention of actually doing related to studies) It's so stupid how this book is so thick (1168 Pages) but it doesn't help! It's Just a lump of exercises. So giving up on Calculus

1900: The all-time Procrastination Aid: You-Tube.... Some interesting videos I want to mention:
2000: Stared at my calculus... and stared...and stared...

2100: Stared at my calculus. Took a break... It gets so tiring when you star at something for so long that you forget the whole purpose of staring.

2200: Stared at my calculus. Relived some old memories from the Senior House... The Flight of the Hamsters! This game is juvenile and a waste of time but it's easily one of the most entertaining games of all time and passes time very quickly

2300: Stared at my calculus... Stared and Stared and zzZZzzZZzz

0000: more ZzzzZZZzzZZz. I always wondered why they represented sleep with Zzzz so I looked it up and found that it is an Onomatopoeia for snoring... Doesn't really make sense since i never heard anyone snore like zzzzzz.. so I came up with a totally new one: nkhoookhkhhkh

0100: Woke up and realized I should really start doing this and started consulting Wikipedia to help me solve these problems.

0200: Started working out the problems.. making progress...

0300: Finished with calculus and now writing this blog...

So... Plain and Simple, I should stop procrastinating and just do the work cause as the above shows I completed the work in an hour but spent most of the day procrastinating.

Anyways tomorrow or rather today, I have a double period so I shall now go to sleep..

Until Next time, keep it Plain and Simple
